INTREPID DEFENSE & SECURITY SYSTEMS SUCCESSFULLY DEMONSTRATES REVOLUTIONARY TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 1, 2005 – Birmingham, Michigan-- Intrepid Defense & Security Systems (IDSS) (www.intrepiddefense.com) and CANVS Corporation (www.CANVS.com) achieved an historic milestone by teaming up to be the first companies to successfully demonstrate the CANVS Color Night Vision Sensor Capability in conjunction with glasses-free three-dimensional display at Force Protection Equipment Demonstration V (FPED V), 26-28 April 2005. FPED V is sponsored by the Undersecretary of Defense and held at Quantico Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia. The invitation only biannual event provides a venue for contractors to demonstrate the latest force protection and physical security equipment to decision makers in the federal government and law enforcement. FPED V included over 500 vendors representing twenty categories of equipment designed for force protection and physical security.
This first volumetric display of color night vision sensor input represents a breakthrough in force protection. Jim Fischbach, Chairman of IDSS and Jonathan Walkenstein, President of CANVS Corp stated that, “The combination of low light level performance, color rather than green imagery, true stereo depth perception and remote control of sensor and transmission of video opens up new territory for unmanned virtual presence on the battlefield, in telemedicine and emergency situations. We are encouraged by the positive response to the demonstration and its benefits to the field soldier.”
CANVS Corporation recently completed the Phase II Small Business Innovative Research project for U.S. Special Operations Command Headquarters “multi-Spectral Low Light Imaging.” Under this initiative CANVS delivered three sets of Color Night Vision Goggles, One Color Night Vision Video System and one Stereo Color Night Vision Video System.
